We didn't start Koch Independent Media because we had it all figured out. We started it because we were tired of being lied to — and we suspected you were too.
Our Story
We Were You
We're not journalists with Ivy League degrees and corporate expense accounts. We're not political insiders with connections to protect. We're ordinary people — parents, workers, taxpayers — who got fed up watching the news and feeling like something was always being left out.
Richard and Kimberley Koch built this platform from the ground up, out of frustration and conviction. Frustration that the media had stopped asking hard questions. Conviction that the truth — the whole truth — was worth fighting for, even when it was inconvenient.
We've faced the same struggles most people face. Financial pressure. Self-doubt. The very real cost of saying things out loud that powerful people would rather you kept quiet. But every obstacle made the mission clearer: independent media isn't a luxury. It's a necessity.
